While not all trauma survivors experience long-term negative consequences, we know that the experience of trauma can profoundly affect someone’s psychological, social, physical, occupational, and financial functioning. Our goal is to demonstrate tools and techniques to assist patients in overcoming trauma and improving their mental health while providing a secure environment to enable patients to process and heal from traumatic experiences.
Nearly 21.4% of U.S. adults will be diagnosed with a mood disorder at some point in their lifetime. Mood disorders can impact anyone regardless of race, age, or gender. Psychosis refers to a collection of symptoms that affect the mind, where there has been some loss of reality. During an episode of psychosis, a person's thoughts and perceptions are disrupted and they may have difficulty recognizing what is and is not real. Our therapist utilizes a combination of evidence-based practices to help patients gain control and recover from psychosis. For some, recovery means the ability to lead a fulfilling and productive life even if psychotic symptoms sometimes return.
Relationships take effort, and struggles are to be expected and a normal part of any couple dynamic. Couples therapy can help deepen relationships by improving communication skills, assisting in conflict resolution, and building trust. Our therapist uses The Gottman Method to support those seeking help in their partnership.
